Democratic Leaders Launch ‘No Hate in WA State’ Campaign Opposing Anti-Trans Ballot Measures

Democratic leaders launched the “No Hate in WA State” campaign in June to oppose two ballot initiatives targeting transgender rights scheduled for November. U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal and King County Executive Girmay Zahilay spoke at the Seattle rally, criticizing Initiative 1 (parental notification of student gender identity) and Initiative 638 (sex verification for girls’ sports).
