Seattle Transit Advocates Push Back on Watering Down Transit Measure Renewal

Seattle City Council is debating amendments to a transit measure renewal before Thursday’s committee vote and an early August deadline to get it on the November ballot. Councilmember Bob Kettle proposed cutting the measure by one-third to 0.2%, which transit advocates, the Transit Advisory Board, and union leaders strongly oppose, saying it would reduce service while raising taxes. The full council votes next week.
