Metro bus shooting suspect faces life in prison as three-strike offender

A Seattle man has been charged with shooting a passenger on a King County Metro bus on July 5 near Fifth Avenue South and South Lander Street. Rashad Mackey, 36, allegedly fired into the bus after accusing riders of stealing his phone, hitting a victim in the chest. As a three-strike offender with prior assault and gun possession convictions, Mackey faces potential life in prison. He’s set for arraignment Thursday with bail set at $5 million.
