Solidarity for Indigenous Rights
Columbia Riverkeeper is partnering with Yakama Nation tribes to protect Pushpum, a sacred site near the John Day Dam along the Columbia River, from a proposed pumped-storage hydroelectric project by Rye Development. The groups hosted a Protect Pushpum encampment in May 2026 that drew over 300 attendees and featured speakers, dancers, and ceremonies to advocate for Indigenous rights and treaty protections.
