SR 169 – Rock Creek, Ginder Creek and unnamed tributaries – fish passage
WSDOT’s $48.8 million fish passage project will close SR 169 in Black Diamond starting Monday, August 17, 2026, for about 35 days to replace culverts blocking Rock Creek and unnamed tributaries. The multi-year project through 2028 will install five fish-passable structures, opening 4.6 miles of habitat for chum, coho, steelhead, and cutthroat salmon. Detours will guide traffic, and local access plus businesses remain open during work.
