Pinehurst Station Bursts into Action, as Upzones Trail Behind

Seattle’s new Pinehurst Station, located at NE 130th Street between Northgate and South Shoreline, officially opened September 30, 2026, five years ahead of the original Sound Transit 3 timeline. The $240 million station serves the 1 and 2 light rail lines and is projected to attract 2,600 to 4,200 daily boardings. However, surrounding neighborhood rezoning remains delayed due to legal challenges to Seattle’s Comprehensive Plan, keeping the station surrounded largely by single-family homes and a golf course.
