State Lawmaker, SDOT Director Clash Over Aurora Avenue Overhaul

A state representative and Seattle’s transportation department are clashing over delays in improving Aurora Avenue, which runs through Seattle. Rep. Julia Reed, frustrated with slow progress on a $50 million state-funded project, pressed SDOT Director Angela Brady in October to follow through on promised meetings and quick-action demonstration projects in Fremont. SDOT says the state funds are difficult to use quickly, but a November meeting between the Aurora Reimagined Coalition and consultants is now scheduled.
